The petals and stem are white ash which has been decimated due to an invasive beetle. Leaves have not fallen early here, they’ve been eaten.
Participated in a couple of traditional dances. Failed miserably, (just as I do in aerobics until I’ve done an exercise umpteen times!)
The trail itself is lovely. Spotted red squirrels and lots of colourful fungi. Various permanent memorials to lives lost. Names on feather shapes representing those of the bald eagle, sacred to the Mi’kmaq. Sadly we haven’t seen any here.

Ashore this morning, before the cruise ship passengers arrived and did 2 circuits at a pace. Feeling very fit.
Will leave this secluded anchorage later - we were only the third boat here this year!
