Menemsha, on the western coast of Martha’s Vineyard, is an absolute delight. Went by 2 busses, through wonderful countryside, chatting to locals and other boaters on the way.![]() It is so picturesque and quaint. It has been a commercial fishing village since the late 1600 s and still has a working fleet with a couple of fish markets and a wholesalers. Menemsha was once known for harpoon-caught swordfish. ![]() A large, bronze statue near the harbour entrance commemorates the harpoon sword fishing and its fishermen. |
