First off, to the boatyard for F to meet the riggers. A dispatched to buy a sander, a cordless one, using the same battery as the drill but only available at Home Depot in Halifax. Happy to spend time in a warm car, as another “frost advisory” this morning. The glorious sunshine is very deceptive, “ feels like” 8 degrees in bitterly cold strongish winds. The riggers were hard at work, despite the cold.
A’s skill set expanding significantly. Now expert in holding solder for soldering delicate electrical connections- down below the base of the mast, in our cabin out of the wind (and deft wielding of a de-soldering pump Ed.). A step up from passing screwdrivers.
We now have full rigging -two forestays.
And a boom.
We’ll now be sailing as a cutter with 3 sails in total. Easier? Faster? Should be.
