The Blue Moon

A lazy day at anchor, people watching. A couple of joggers, finishing their exercise routine with planks and press ups (on sand?!) Entertained by watching two kayakers being upturned as they approached land. The beach is very steep and the waves roll in, making a safe landing very tricky. Rucksacks, bits and bobs including a cool box had to be rescued. They spent some time searching in the water, so something was lost. Surprisingly, they managed to leave the beach fully loaded and without incident.
Regular bursts of extremely loud fireworks echoing round the bay disturbed the peace throughout the day and past midnight. The wooden rockets ended up on the beach, later used for firewood. Seems strange to us to hear them during the day as well as see them at night.
A heavy downpour cleared the beach and we hastily closed up hatches. The forecast thunder storm didn’t materialise fortunately and the rain didn’t last long.
A quick cooling dip and shower before supper and scrabble.
Watched the Blue Moon rise above the rocks, the photo doesn’t do it justice - the “man in the moon “ was clearly visible.

Rocked to sleep again, to the sound of breaking waves and the mewing of the shearwater.
