Arrived on Thursday morning to find we had a “Rapidhome” rather close to the bows. Some manoeuvring of it made A very anxious!

Had been told that a container ship was due on Friday. Sure enough it was being unloaded when we arrived in the morning. Caterpillar has a monopoly here-from forklift trucks to container carriers, all were hard at work all day, zooming this way and that, occasionally rather too close for comfort. What a racket they make.

Very aware of how small the island is, how far things have to travel and why there are gaps on the shelves. One container was rapidly emptied, bags of potatoes, carrots, onions and apples were transferred to a truck then off to the supermarket. Another full of tractor tyres and pallets loaded with bags of fertiliser.
Being in a hotel means eating out every night, walking past the square we had fond memories of the festival. The robin is still there.

Saturday was very peaceful in comparison. Had a good day of usual maintenance jobs and back to hotel latish. While deciding where to eat it started to rain heavily, that clinched it, we’d eat in the hotel. Been advised it’s always necessary to book which we did, but, as before, were the only guests. A limited menu but tasty.
The container port was even quieter on Sunday - had to drive round the back to get in as the main gates were locked. We had it to ourselves. F took the windlass apart, which had been leaking oil for a while, to check what parts we need to bring out.
Hurricane Kirk is due to pass north ( fingers crossed) on Monday/ Tuesday so keeping a beady eye on the weather.
