Biblical rains

So glad we moved the boat around the corner, but next to the crane, used for lifting masts, so only a temporary refuge.
Torrential rain all day on Saturday and high winds. A truly miserable day and worst rain encountered so far. Had to don full oilskins and get wet twice. First to readjust lines and replace one forward line with a more stretchy one to stop it snatching (noisy and jerky.) Then to rig up the “sun “ awning at the front to act as a rain protector for the generator. Can only have heating if batteries charged enough and Yacht Club electrics are a bit flakey. In-house electrical engineer has not yet succeeded in getting shore power without it tripping.
What a change in the weather on Sunday. Woke up to sunshine. Flat calm so moved the boat back again, in case anyone took our spot. Very pleasant day for drying all our wet gear plus the bimini before stowing and for removing more lines. Boat beginning to look very bare.

Walked up to the supermarket to buy enough to last a few days. Expecting to be hauled out on Wednesday, cooking after that will be minimal.
Thanksgiving today, though not a holiday for all, as it is in the US. Pumpkin Tarts our nod to the celebration. Glad to see they’re “made with real pumpkins”!
