Checked out of hotel today early, still very jet lagged.
Now time to put F’s hard work at the sewing table to the test.
Made the most of a very calm day to bend on the large Genoa and the main.
The main is a pain! There are 5 battens which fit into individual pockets and end with a car attached to the mast. There are 2 plates to each car which require lots of screws and wished the electric screwdriver at home in the garage had been available. Note to the children!
All went well until the last couple of minutes when the wind started gusting, the air was blue and we were hugging the sail so it didn’t fill. Normally we would bend the sails at anchor or on a mooring buoy so if there is change of wind direction you go with the flow! But all was well.
It was a very long but successful day and the canvas maker was very chuffed! Looking more like a sailing boat.
