Walked round to the Islands Provincial Park on the other side of the harbour. Part of the trail, The Roseway River Trail, follows the abandoned railway line ending at the entrance to the park. Granite is a feature of the area; in winter, when the harbour froze, boulders would be rolled across the harbour to the town - no more, it no longer freezes.

A. squealed, when she had a very close encounter with a snake. It slithered rapidly in front of her. Reckon it was a garter snake. Big enough at 1ft! Relieved to learn no poisonous snakes in Nova Scotia!

But do need to be very vigilant for ticks. Lyme disease is an issue here. Already met someone who had been hospitalised for 3 days by it.
Enjoyed drinks at the Yacht Club with the OCC Port Officers, Mike and Barb. Possibility of buying a secondhand cruising chute through them. We’ve missed ours. Sod’s Law we won’t have any more downwind sailing if we buy it!
Had delicious meal at Charlotte Lane Cafe - THE place to eat in Shelburne. It certainly was good.
