Up early to get the sailbag to the sailmakers soon after 8am. Desperate measures needed to keep dry. F donned the oilskin jacket kept for guests. Grabbed it from top of the pile in the store”just in case”. Didn’t expect to need it. His preferred option is red.
A good look?

Got an email saying our cheque for uninsured losses was ready to collect from Halifax, a result indeed, a year and a day after the event we’d had to push them for Halifax, they’d wanted to send it to the UK!
Drove in monsoon like rain. The entire day the rain was torrential and sense of humour distinctly lacking as soaked to the skin and chilled to the bone.
The last few days have made us realise that we need waterproof backpacks for grocery shopping. Just in case! Newfoundland, our intended destination, not renowned for clement conditions. So went to Decathlon as we were in the area and purchased a couple.
Returned via the store, of course. Picked up the bikes, the 2 new (last year!) batteries and the two boxes of kitchen things. A relief to be able to grate, peel, core, crush and pick at last.
