Back stays re attached, but not without drama. The rigger last year had commented that he’d made them a bit short, so after numerous attempts to reattach, A was finally put into a rope “bosun’s chair” attached to the back stay and her weight(!) allowed the two parts to meet. The indignity of it!!
Woke up to glorious skies- definitely shepherd’s warning, prior to the storm coming through. Not a bad view from my bunk!

Very heavy rain and winds up to 40 knots forecast, so decided we would jump ship and go to Baddeck by road for lunch followed by Celtic Colours open mic session at the Yacht Club. A sound move, favoured by many. A packed session with some very accomplished musicians.
Arrived back at the boat just as it got dark with about an hour to go before winds due to abate, so took refuge(!) in the bar. This Yacht Club facility is proving very useful.
Emerged later to a calm and dry landscape, in time for light supper before an undisturbed night’s sleep.
