Q. Why does everything have to leak? A. Because nothing has been run for the best part of 4 years and seals have dried out or perished.
So more items added to the list of jobs. The hydraulic steering ram is leaking fluorescent fluid.

The shower head too is leaking and needs to be replaced. Added to list of plumbing parts to purchase back in the UK. A then remembered that it always leaked a bit and that the shower feed was turned off after each use. A decided to do this, put her hand into the locker behind and discovered the holding tank is leaking. Grim. Even the packet of scallops leaked juice into the fridge which required a deep clean - especially after a few days!!
Filled up with water and one of the inspection hatches used to clean out the tanks hadn’t sealed so leaked and started to fill the bilges yet again.
Our booking for the dock in Lunenburg expired yesterday and it’s getting busier. A 100ft vessel had reserved so we had to leave. Strongish winds forecast, so decided to seek shelter. Back to the LaHave river, sailing some of the way and motoring the rest to get settled before the strong winds arrived. Suffice to say survived a full blown mini storm overnight. Thunder and lightening meant the oven was used as a Faraday cage once again (Ed. more séance than science I suspect) torrential rain and very strong winds. Able to monitor boat dragging on the anchor via a nifty app and also set other alarms.
A went to bed fully clothed in layers of thermals snd socks, ready to don oilskins and lifejacket, just in case. A flat calm in the morning and the App said we were 2m from where we started. Happy Father’s Day!
