Downhill from then on!
Eight hour flight to Toronto. First landing aborted at last minute, as runway not clear. White knuckles. Heart stopping moment.
Long queues through immigration, numerous passport/boarding pass/ vaccination certificate/ ArriveCan checks later, fly on to Halifax in an ancient tiny cramped Bombardier turbo prop plane.
No room for carry on luggage, guy on other side of aisle had backside in F’s face as attempted to stow his. Nothing more depressing than flying past destination only to return there 6 hours later The Covid effect! Only 4 Canadian airports open to international travellers. Imagine the queues!
Frequent turbulence from the tail end of Hurricane Larry-but relieved this one didn’t go over the boat.
Arrived and fell into bed in the Althotel, a rather tired airport hotel. Great design but not up to the through traffic. Swing doors to the bathroom didn’t close neither did the shower door. An unintentional wetroom.
Great views! Over the car parks.
