A quick trip to the storage unit to pick up some bulky item to stow in the sail locker and a few vital things for our first trip - we still forgot the binoculars, though. Then off to stow everything securely. Our bunk still piled high with cushions. Making up the bed will definitely be a challenge later. Checked lifejackets and weighed the gas bottle to check they were still ok to be used.
Finally set off, relieved to be leaving.
The temperature switch has been moved again. A very rapidly had 4 layers on and was back in her boots.
F true to form more gung ho and ended up feeling quite chilled despite the elation of new instruments to play with.
They are very impressive and they all work. Quite a feat. (Ha….. you expected less??? Ed. )
Arrived four hours later with the hire car left at the boatyard. Got a lift from our sailmaker, who drives past the boatyard on his way home, to pick up the car. Once back in Lunenburg went in search of wifi. A out of data - her phone been used for Apple Navigation (that’s her excuse anyway!) thought a celebratory drink was in order but were tempted too by a shared crab dip starter. Then discovered no customer wifi. Ongoing issues from the wildfires mean guests overload the system, so no public use allowed. Expect that may be the reason it was so iffy at the boatyard latterly.
