A fortuitous encounter

An auspicious start to the day. F took A ashore to get the taxi to refill the gas cylinder and stock up again for the off. Met our electronics supplier in the carpark who happened to be working on a boat at the yacht club. F was able to meet up with him later to discuss the annoying wind instrument issues. As a result it is now behaving itself. The instructions from the manufacturer, which F had religiously followed, for a change! were incorrect and we had been chasing a non-existent problem elsewhere(Ed. Hopelessly, unfathomably and misleadingly wrong they were!!! I might sue)
While A was shopping, the new batteries were delivered by Zak and his dad. They even carried them down below. It had been a Herculean task( for A at least) to extract the old ones from the battery box below the bunk and manoeuvre them through the boat and up onto the deck. F, always one to find a solution to awkward jobs, fashioned a slide to allow the batteries to be moved into the box in a controlled way. It worked a treat. Now installed and working.

F needs to go back up the mast to replace the wind instrument and then a final top up of the water tanks should see us ready to go. At last!
