Waited too long to batten down the hatches and got soaked in the process, although F had foresight to wear swimming shorts! All lines and sails thoroughly secured, Bimini tied up, ensign removed and every fender used as the boat is being blown onto the wharf. The “blue” moon brings with it very high and low tides so positioning of fenders crucial so they don’t pop out at high tide. No sight of the moon sadly.
A noisy night with winds gusting 40 knots and heavy rain showers. F, always attuned to irritating noises, by 5 am just had to rectify a banging halyard, only to be caught in a heavy downpour - bad timing. The boat, itself, barely moved as an empty wine bottle was still in situ this morning!
