Left Bridgewater Marina finally after hosing down the decks and washing away most of the pollen and anchored overnight at the mouth of the river. Woke up to dense fog which by midday seemed to have cleared somewhat. Hoisted the main and motored away. Once through the buoyed channel, attempted to sail but wind so variable that we were making little progress. Furled the sails and put the engine on.
Thank goodness for radar. Visibility now between 100 and 200 metres for best part of 5 hours motoring - very tedious but it did give F loads of time to play with his new nav. instruments.
Coming into Mahone Bay, A at the bow with headset on, trying to check for navigation buoys and boats which appeared out of nowhere. Tied up to first available mooring buoy and sighed with relief- then had a beer.
Sadly all fireworks for Canada Day cancelled.
