First walk ashore after 5 days, good to stretch our legs properly and get them working again. Met some of our neighbouring fishermen on the pontoon who were lamenting the unusually harsh weather. Cold and foggy again today.
Walked past The Garrick Theatre advertising The Navigators gig tonight. Popped in and asked the young girl in the box office how good they were, her diplomatic response “ well, my dad likes them a lot”. That sold it, so tickets bought, went off with a spring in our step!
Made our way to Mifflin’s Tea Rooms for a Newfie lunch, cod fish cakes with a rhubarb relish, a great combo.
Had to shop for personal items and socks, someone hadn’t packed properly. Only available outlet Riffs, (no Gentleman’s Outfitters in Bonavista) successful, after a fashion!

The Navigators were indeed good, a well known Newfoundland band, very accomplished musicians, lovely baritone voices and very entertaining. There was a real buzz. Bought the requisite CD as a reminder but unable to play it on board. That will have to wait until we are home.
