A two day journey and we’re finally back on the boat, on Thursday. A warm humid day and a pleasant afternoon to relax in the cockpit with our loungers and books, admiring the house opposite.

A thinks she detected German voices which wouldn’t be surprising as many have bought waterside homes over here. Flight back was via Frankfurt and the second leg was full, so a popular route.
Lulled into a false sense of security.
Had a fair amount of rain back in the UK and seems we’ve brought it with us , some might say we have form! Friday’s forecast was for rain and how! No one here has experienced anything like it. Between 20 and 24 inches(!) in 24 hours. A dam threatened to burst, there was flash flooding and even the highway had to be closed. Never experienced this amount even in the monsoons in the tropics. Not just rain but dreaded thunder storms too, all night, so devices packed away into the oven, holding our breath again.
Regular emergency alerts on the mobiles with mandatory evacuations in some areas.
Occasional lulls and started to breathe a sigh of relief then whoosh, as if a helicopter was dumping water on us to douse a fire. What a racket. The rain was even bouncing off the surface of the water.
A couple of jobs were, however, completed down below. Now have a shiny new tap in the galley and new shower head in our heads. Two leaks down, hopefully.
