Therapy on Wednesday was in the form of a walk followed by a meal and drinks at the yacht club. The walk became an endurance test as the drizzle brought out the mosquitoes. A had used “Off” beforehand but they still got to places she’d missed. F was bitten several times through his polo shirt! They are vicious wee beasties. However, felt better for being ashore and stretching our legs.
Our boat neighbours, E & S invited us to supper ashore last night. They live 5 minutes walk from the dinghy dock. Treated to a delicious meal, drinks on the deck before the bugs came out then supper in their freestanding garden room, all walls replaced by fine netting to keep the bugs out but still allowing an all-round view of the garden and varied wildlife. A perfect spot to watch the humming birds, woodpeckers, chipmunks and deer, although, to the locals, they’re pests, munching their way through gardens and carrying ticks and Lyme disease. Left in good time to dinghy back to the boat before it got dark. A perfect evening.
