Sewing bee in the cockpit. F sewing new dyneema sleeve onto the main sheet to prevent chafe and it’s also been turned around, to get most wear out of the rope.
A carried on from where F had left off, unpicking the leather wheel cover. The thread has suffered from UV rot over the years and F wants to do a proper sewing job. So much easier in bright sunlight with it hanging over the boom.
Only sewing A has done is to mend the lining of her very old but favourite oilskin trousers!
F determined not to buy new leather cover, so now painstakingly sewing it back on. Hard work as the leather is now quite stiff.
Invited to supper on Friday and again today. J&B are so generous. They’d stocked up on loads of food for daughters who were over from Halifax for the long weekend, but it turned out they both had better offers, so we lucked out.
Counting down to leaving boat on Friday morning. Most major jobs completed but a host of others not even on the list- can’t be that important.
