Off to explore. Discovered the “lounge area” with wifi which sadly doesn’t reach the boat. Set off into the town, passed the Twillingate Dinner Theatre, they ‘re putting on a show - music, sketches and the like, with roast beef supper for locals tomorrow. Tempted to go but need to check the forecast first.
Twillingate is on an island and the bridge/causeway offers good views of the numerous fishing rooms, so very typical of the province.

Stopped off at Scot Lewis Pencil Art, he started pencil drawing age 5 and his fine pencil art of Newfoundland scenery and wildlife is impressive. Decided to buy one as a reminder.

Loved his display of his used pencils- too short to use, but he couldn’t bring himself to throw them away.

Scot even offered to drive us to the hardware store after we’d asked for directions. Someone else also offered the use of his vehicle. Not sure we’d do the same with complete strangers back in the UK.
It’s a very popular tourist spot in the summer, being a top destination for whale watching and icebergs and it’s certainly a very attractive town.
