A busy day. Up promptly to check out the AIS which may or may not have been behaving erratically. All connections good, so our end seems fine. A little disconcerting to find the boat was still in Angra after making landfall in Sines, according to Shipfinder etc.
Topped up water tanks. Then off to have freshly grilled sardines for lunch. F had been hoping to have them in the Azores, but only frozen available there. The restaurant is at the fishing port, a perfect spot, only open for lunch, frequented by locals with a 30mins wait for a table. Well worth it. Sardines, salad, bread and potatoes come without delay as they are cooking constantly on a huge charcoal grill. 10 huge sardines (F’s comment I’m sure there should have been 12!!!!) delivered on a tray which we struggled to finish. Just as we popped in the last forkful the chef walked round with a pile of freshly cooked sardines and tossed them onto the customer’s plates ignoring our “no thanks” with a laugh.
Stuffed full of delicious sardines we took a taxi up to Continente, did a biggish shop then back to prepare boat for the off. Out to anchor for the night, to get a prompt start to Cascais in the morning. Have made arrangements for the rear section of the bimini to be re-stitched there.
