Unbeknown to us, hotel was about to be invaded by 150 kayakers taking part in a round the island race in 4 stages.
The first morning we made the mistake of going for a latish breakfast at 8:30. What a bun fight! Had to wait for a table, queue for coffee, hang around for food items to be replenished and wear ear plugs, they were so loud. They also demonstrated an amazing ability to pile enormous quantities of scrambled eggs onto the saucer sized plates provided by the hotel in a fruitless attempt to limit the volume of food the average person could carry.
Lesson learnt, down 7:30 next couple of days and of course, had to wait for them to open the door! Rules are rules- no breakfast before 7:30 on the dot or later!
Checked out early today, able to do 2 lots of laundry before returning car to airport.
Now in process of unpacking and stowing everything. The king of spread sheets is having difficulty finding space for 3 sets of thermals !? and twenty odd t shirts.
Back to being liveaboards.
Had hoped to eat at Clube Naval last night but they were hosting the kayakers. Thought we’d go for lunch today - closed until Tuesday - it must have been a late night.
