15.00hrs We sailed into Nantucket from
Edgartown , Marth's Vinyard, a distance of 27 miles,
The weather was cool, breezy, and overcast, a big
change from last week where it was 110 F or 45 C degrees.
we sailed from Vinyard harbour to Edgartown on
wednesday and spent 2 nights in this special place.
Edgartown was special, the white clapboard
buildings were mostly a couple of hundred years old and beautifully
maintained, It was all very upmarket , even the
people and their dogs looked upmarket.
Aileen took the bus to " Oaks Bluff " for
the day yesterday while skipper fiddled around with the generator ,
We went to a french restaurant called " L'etoile"
for dinner,
later we got a call from a Craig Dowley, an
American who lives in Ireland with his wife Mary , However his mother has a
house
in Martha's Vinyard and they are here on holidays
at present, Aileen and Craig feel they are related from way back
when,
God, its a small world, I keep saying
that
We all went for a few scoops after finishing the
fine french cuisine, skipper had almost too much , !
As we left Edgartown, we passed lots of Oppies out
sailing and training, but they had a great selection of
different coloured sails, all making for a pretty
picture,
Thats all for today,
Signed :- stephen Hyde ( Skipper
)
