Saturday  29th March  2010    Gladys Hyde's Birthday  ( 93)
01.00hrs  A beautifull starrey night again, with a waxing Moon.

10,00hrs  Radio time again, We sent our position , as usual, via email, and then listened to all the positions of the fleet,
Great stuff, We are still closing in on " Crazy Horse" the U.S. 60+ footer
Our British friends on " Eowyn" are now some 300 miles behind us

We started this leg two weeks ago today, its hard to believe that we are at sea now for 2 weeks

Later we put a locking device on a drawer in the Galley, as the bloody thing kept opening when the boat would roll violantly,
Now , this does not happen very often, but when it does, you have to hang onto your " drawers"
We fixed up a few other things while we were in the mood.

14.00hrs  Light lunch,

16.30hrs, Yacht Ahoy !  we could see a yacht with a spinniker flying off our port bow,
We ranged him on the computer, 0nly 3,6 miles away,
Skipper felt sure it was " Crazy Horse" but Fats poo, pood, that suggestion as soon as he got out of his scratcher at 17.45hrs ( Nap time)
Fats explained in great detail how it could NOT be " Crazy Horse" and to prove he is right, decided to radio them and find
out who they were, they may not even be part of our group, ( oh yeah)

Oh cripes, whatever, you should have seen the look on his face when the Yacht responded  " This is Crazy Horse,"  Hello there " A  LADY"

You know his motto :- Seldom wrong, but never in doubt..   ( of course the smart alecks say, Always wrong but never in doubt)
Any its not often that the Skipper proves him wrong, In this case, it just felt great, Yahoo !
And in fairness to him, He takes it well, and all the shit we could pour on him as well,

Well done Fats.

18.00hrs  We tried in vain to hoist the KITE, the blinking thing was all twisted, so we had to abandon that idea for the moment,
the KITE will have to be repacked in its sock.
That all took 40 mins, meanwhile the starters ( Scollops wrapped in smoked bacon) that the Skipper had in the oven almost got frazzeled
as a result,
Dinner was Stuffed roast Porksteaks again, with the usual veg and packet potatoes, ( which we bought in " Lanzarotte") and taste great.
whats more, they take only 2 minutes to make, as opposed to peeling and boiling and mashing , all taking 35 /40 mins.
No gravey, but we did have apple sauce.

Night Watch :-                   Aileen......................21.00 / 01.00hrs
                                        Fats.........................01.00 / 05.00hrs
                                        Skipper.....................05.00 / 09.00hrs

Thats it for today,
