MONDAY  22nd March 2010

Very light winds all night, The stars, just magic,  Reminds Skipper of sitting in the cockpit of Bill Rickards boat on the Dublin to Dingle
race a few years ago, We were off Dursey Island at 02.00hrs in the morning with a beautifull Starry night,
That night was the first time the skipper saw a Sputnic ( satalite ) and it was Bryan Dobson ( RTE) who pointed it out to us.

02.00hrs  Skipper rebandaged his toe that got snagged on something and was getting sore,

Had an email from skips sister lorna, Herself ( cracked ribs and all ), Finian and the Kids are off to Florida today to join Finians brother
Garry O Driscoll on his yacht for holidays. Ohh  I wonder how " Shaun " from Liberty is doing since we last saw her in Rodney Bay ?

10.00hrs   Radio time, again we sent our position to " Eowyn " by email and could pick up the position of everyone else on the SSB radio.
" Crazy Horse " like ourselves motored during the night, we knew that anyway , as we could see them on the radar.

Nothing much happened during the day, the usual naps, reading, light lunch, It was Sooooo  Hot and not much breeze to cool us down.
We reset the sails goose winging on a port tack.
It is great ot shut down the engine , ( Fondly referred to as " the Iron Sail" )

20.00hrs  Dinner by Aileen, This consisted of Bacon chops with mashed potatoes, baked beans, and yes, pineapple sauce.. all very tasty.

The sunset was spectacular, Crimson red sky with some fluttering clouds shimmering on the horizon.
We took some photo's , But they really never get the picture across properly

Night Watches :-                 Donal............................22.00hrs  /  01.00hrs
                                          Aileen...........................01.00hrs  /  05.00hrs
                                          Stephen........................05.00hrs  /  09.00hrs

When one is on night shifts like these nights, 15 nights in a row, its great to have good weather and Starrey nights,
How often have we been out in hairy conditions, trying desperatly to hold onto our Knickers and our Bellys all night.
Long may it last.

Thats it for today.
