TUESDAY 6th  April  2010

07.00hrs  All into the water for a swim,
There was a big surge running this morning, and a lot of yachts arrieved during the night.

We had a long Skype conversation with our son Paul and family, The skipper has a local sim card in his mobile ( as his G4 sim card does not work
out here )  anyway the local card will recieve incomming calls free, and if someone rings from Ireland on a Skype phone, then the total cost is small.

10.30  The Skipper took Donal and Aileen ashore, We cannot get any Desiel till tomorrow as the supply ship is alongside the fuelling berth.
that restricts our departure till tomorrow.

We had a long conversation with our daughter " Sarah " , catching up on the home news.

14.30 hrs  S & A hired a car and went for a drive across the Island to Hatiheu, a very pritty little village on the north coast,
It also has the biggist historical religious monument we have seen to date. plus a Banyon tree , again the biggest we have seen.
the natives used to put the sculls of their victims into the Banyon trees as part of the sacrafice.
Human sacrafice's were a big part of the religious belief's and offerings to the Gods in the good old days.. Ohhhhhhhhh scarry stuff.

the views from the highest points of the Island were breath taking, But they are suffering from drought at present and a lot of the trees are dying
as a result..

17.30hrs   S &A  returned to the Boat and the Skipper cooked Sheppards pie with the leftover lamb..    It did enough for two days.. yum yum.
Again , another wonderfull starrey night,

Thats it for now,
