FRIDAY 19th MARCH 2010
01.00hrs Another beautifull starrey
night,
Reminds the Skipper of " Lissard Lake Lodge
" in Skibbereen, out the Tragumna road,
This magnificant House and its grounds were
developed by Vight Turske as a " SKY GARDEN"
Of course you could ask , What is a Sky Garden
!
The Sky Garden at " LISSARD" was a project dreamed
up between Vight Turske and his friend James Turrel,
James Turrel was a world expert on the "
effect of space on the mind " and has written books on the subject.
( poppy cock ! well we dont know , do
we,,,,, There is claustrafobia and agrafobia, kinda related ! who
knows)
Anyway, the storey goes on, The " SKY GARDEN
" consisted of lots of things like a massive man made creater, the sides of
which must have 29m high,
all you could see from inside this creater ( having
entered it through a long narrow tunnel) was the SKY.
In the center was an alter, you were supposed to
lie down on the slab and study the sky, or if it was night time, the
stars.
Lying on the deck tonight, looking at the stars
twinkling up there , brought back the memories of this SKY GARDEN
project.
The Skipper was the Archicect for the design of the
Hotel end of the project and Clayton Minor signed the cheques.
The plot thickens,
War broke out when James Turrell ( Vights best
friend , or was he an NBF) ran off with Vight's wife, Could you believe that,
trollix
The result was thinds went downhill after that,
But not before they had sucked millions of £ from the Irish
Government,
and eventually the whole thing went belly up and
Vight made off with another lady " Claudia" an antropoligist,
Amen
Now, thats making a very long and interesting
storey into a very short few words,
Meanwhile back on board the boat and at least
14,000 miles from Skibbereen, the wind has increased again to 18 /
20knots
10.00hrs, Radio call, again we have
emailed our positions to the fleet, and we recieved their positions over the
SSB,
God, Fats just loves that thing , even though its
not working properly.
If he was wearing a head set, sitting at the
Nav, station, you would really think he was back flying those RAF
Choppers.
Good old Fats.
14.00hrs a light lunch and we are still
making good progress, even though the wind has got lighter overall.
Aileen and Donal had long naps after lunch, More
like avoiding the sun as well.
20.00hrs We had a super Turkey dinner,
prepared by Fats, ilcluding potatoes, green beans, and gravey, ( he is
great for the gravey)
Night
Watches:-
Donal.......................22.00 / 02.00hrs

Aileen......................06.00 / 10.00hrs
Thats all for today,
Signed :-
Stephen Hyde, ( Skipper )
