WEDNESDAY   27th  JANUARY  2011

It was another great night at Sea,  A South East  20 / 25 knots of wind all night and we kept the " Bag of Fear " flying all night.
The seas were flat , and the stars glittering above.

o7.00hrs   Distance travelled....................................985 miles  ( 204 miles in the last 24hours )

09.00hrs  Radio Call. by " Eowyn "  they took over from Tzigane who washaving problems with their steering or auto helm,
we were not sure which. some of these boats are now over 400 miles behind us....
We did well on the fleet in the last 24 hours, taking an average of 50 miles or more out of all boats, and we went from being 32
miles behind " Wild Tigress" to being 24 miles ahead of them.   ohhh more happy bunnies on board.

To celebrate doing so well, particularly passing W. T. and having passed the half way stage during the night, Skipper cooked
sausages, baked beans, fried eggs, on toast for breakfast, along with a bottle of Champaigne. ( now this wont happen very often)

Sham did a strange thing, he threw a coin over the side saying " Thats a gift to Neptune "  keeep him happy !
Well , whatever , we seem to have more wind than anyone else, mind you, we always seem to be in a stream of wind all of our own
during this whole trip.;

As some Gel batteries seem to be on their last legs, we have to run the generator every 3 hours in an effort to save what ever ones have
survived out of the 8 deep cycle 6v batteries we have on board for general power.
We have 2 other seperate ones for starting the engine, one other for starting the Generator, and 2 more in the lazerette for lifting and
lowering the Rib.  Thats a total of 13 batteries on board.....

Skipper cooked one of his Sweet and sour Goulash's , consisting of a base of onions, marinated beef, chunks of turnip's
Pinapple, the usual seasoning, some carrotts and peas, Tomato ketchup. soya sauce, etc
Cooking time, 2.5 hours.
This , all with creamed potatoes , was great, yum, yum and you know how hungry tapeworms get at sea.

Another beautifull night, one ship passed 5 miles to the north, but we decided that we would leave the spinniker flying again for the night.
