Quiet day at Villa Roza. Drive via alternative route to very nice elevated restaurant overlooking Supetar and Split.

Alex asked me to pick up a bottle of champagne from the boat – something is going on! Jack and Catherine (and Lucy Grace) asked just Jude and I down to Bobovisca – something is going on!

Big night when we returned as Alex and Kate announced their engagement at Villa Roza over a glass of champagne! I was ecstatic, as was Jude. So happy for them both. Alex had organised the ring through a contact in South Africa, picked it up in J’Burg and then flew up to Holland to ask Kate’s mother, Els, and father, Hans, to marry Kate. Well executed plan unbeknown to any of us, or Kate!

We paid a visit to a small winery and restaurant which produces excellent rose, Spoza Brac Opolo. The wine cannot be purchased retail, maybe at the cellar door. Only served at good restaurants. When we arrived I rang the manager and was advised the restaurant was booked out for 10 days and the cellar door would not be open until Tuesday Aug 22!

We settled for an elevated restaurant over looking Supetar and across to Split.
