1530hrs Depart Cala Cannelle for Marina Di Campo, Elba

1830hrs We had the rod out trolling and noted tuna in a feeding frenzy about 2 or 3 hundred metres away so altered course to circle the tuna patch for 15 minutes or so but there was no interest in the lure. We gave up and returned on our heading to Marina Di Campo. About half a nautical mile later I went down stairs to the galley to prepare dinner when a tuna hit. Craig called me up and slowed the boat to idle and we jointly took turns to bring the tuna in. He made several runs from the boat but after about half an hour we had him alongside and Craig gaffed him. We proceeded to bleed, clean and then cut the fish into thick steaks. The first tuna hooked and landed on Westralia in the Med, so that is off the bucket list.
