Jude and Matt arrived at Gibraltar 30 June and after farewelling the Discovery crew, Andrew and Mark on the 3rd July we stayed on in Gibraltar to wait for the arrival of Mark, Catherine and Jack on the 6th July. Jude, Matt and I hired a car and drove to Cadiza and Taritha and got a first hand look at the seas in the Gibraltar Strait from the land.

We stayed on at Alcaidesa marina until the 9th organising engine and genset service and replacement bowthruster batteries that were damaged (cracked) during the heavy head on 40kt seas through the Gibraltar Strait.

We have been motor sailing in light airs around the coast of Spain enjoying the mountainous coastline and numerous marinas and anchorages, with the plan to make Majorca via Ibiza by the 16th July.

Other than a potential disaster when Jude and I first took the boat out of Alcaidesa marina (the bow rope was still attached but I thought it was clear) we have successfully berthed Westralia end to several times with no issues.
