Finished what I thought was the major tear yesterday. I didn’t have a particularly restful night because of the swell and the wind came and went. The anchor grumbled a bit but I didn’t appear to have dragged although the track on the IPad showed that I had moved around a bit.

I started work at 0600, as soon as it was light and thought that I’d finished by about 1030.A couple of boats arrived in the anchorage that I am now in and I wasn’t going to bother as I thought the wind would drop enough to allow me to get Frank (worked it out yet?) back on the furling gear. No such luck and as I was getting organised I noticed another small rip. OK sod it, reportedly there wasn’t much wind in the other anchorage (er, wrong as it happens) and it was now too hot to work on the foredeck. Did that yesterday and got the headache to prove it. Right then, anchor up and round to the other anchorage.

I’ve found a pleasant spot, sand and 5 metres. The swell is a bit less but at least I won’t have the anchor grumbling tonight. I’ll try and finish Frank this afternoon when it’s a bit cooler and the wind does drop over night so I should be OK to leave tomorrow (18^th) and still be in Bali by the 20^th. Yachts I spoke to this morning said they’d been getting up to 40kt gusts overnight and generally 30kt gusts in the day. This may account for the split gennaker! The winds are forecast to die down tomorrow afternoon which actually suits me better, given the state of Frank. Yet something else to worry about, dammit!

Oh yes, this is a very pleasant anchorage. Sandy beach, a bit of a reef for snorkelling and clear water. Picture book stuff, I recommend it to those who follow.
