Well, as you can see from the map I'm in La Coruna. The trip across Biscay
was OK apart from the last half-day (or night, actually). Approaching
Spain, the forecast was for the wind to become light and variable, then
turn Southerly and blow. It never went particularly light and I was able
to sail a lot but it did gradually turn south. Passing abeam Coruna, the
last forecast I got was for the winds to possible reach F8 in about 12
hours. As I was now motoring directly into the wind/sea I decide to dive
into Coruna, as it was either 30 miles directly into it to get to
Camarinos or 30 miles across the wind & waves to get to Coruna. I
chickened out (although it wasn't particularly comfortable) & am now
sitting in the marina waiting for the weather to clear up. The guy in the
marina wants me to move berths, but having got here and tied up, totally
knackered, I used my extensive Spanish to explain the situation......'es
no possible, senhor'......that'll hold him.
Caught up on some sleep, crashed out for about five hours and am now
feeling a bit more human. It's just stopped raining, so possibly a shower
and some beer?
I'm having trouble signing into my googlemail account for some reason,
even with a WIFI link, so it's possibly better to use the mailasail
address, but the usual rules apply.
Lots of videos of dolphins and 'stuff', so no doubt I'll be making an
excruciatingly boring DVD at some point!
