First the good news:
There is no leak. When the new black water tank was connected up, the pump-out system was plumbed arse about face, that is instead of pumping effluent out the harbour was being pumped in! The sound of running water was the overflow pipe doing what it was supposed to do. Partly my fault, I should have checked. Anyway, all has been re-jigged and apart from a 'weeping' pump all is well. I'll try and fix the pump tomorrow.

Next bit of good news is a publisher is interested in the 'Trembling Tim' stories. Not only that, but the Dr LeMesurier story is being evaluated as well.

Now for the not so good news. Henning took a preliminary look at both engines this afternoon. The really suspect engine is minus the contents of the rocker box. Everything was removed over a month ago for repair and with all the coming and going and other stress I thought the engine was back together again. The other engine is going to be run tomorrow (not by Martin). I'm charging up a starter battery right now. Martin is supposed to be coming to start the wiring tomorrow and if you recall both engines were supposed to be run on Saturday. If they aren't then the first thing is a letter to the RSYC insisting that they ban Martin from working on boats at the club. What happens after that depends on whether or not any of the new parts have been fitted to the engines. Some pictures tomorrow.

I was really beginning to think that I might actually be getting out of here. Silly me, looks like I'll be arguing about Visa extensions and extending the boat's duty-free status instead of sailing.
