Left Alderney at 0600 local and had a pleasant motor ! to Poole, Cobbs Quay Marina. Took about 10 hours to the entrance to Poole Harbour (wind 9kts up the chuff all the way across). Couple of minor snags on the way, batten car came unscrewed, locking wire holding the pin attaching the boom to the gooseneck fitting came undone so the pin popped out. Couldn't manage to relocate it at sea so lashed the boom. Got through the 1830 bridge and was on the mooring by 1900. Jacquie & Richard were there to 'catch me' but by the time we left and got to the restaurant for my birthday supper it was too late for Rhoda, so she watched us eat! Saturday I repositioned the boat with a minor drama (got something around the prop which restricted power) but got onto the new berth OK & Rhoda was be able to get on board on Sunday for an 'Admiral's Inspection'.
The Bury Hill Mob also came for a picnic lunch on Sunday, which was great. On Monday 5th Abbey & Richard helped me take the boat round to Lymington Town Quay (motored again!). Tue Steve arrived about 1000 and we took the boat round to Cowes for the evening, then on wed onward to Thornham marina for warranty work. Attached photos show Old Harry Rocks, and the picnic lunch. Mandy assured everybody that she had bumped her head and that was why she was wearing the wine cooler, me, I'm not so sure!
