OK, the cushions weren't in there (they were in 'das boot' originally of course, but sheesh! What a pile of (muddy, smelly) junk
Most of it has now been binned, the locker was cleaned/disinfected and the cushions been stored in there for the time being. After frequent washes, the upholstery isn't in too bad shape and should be livable with (well maybe, the fabrics here are very cheap).
Below is where the book shelves/vegetable store was. My plan is to build a fridge on the right and install plastic racks on top of the work surface on the left. The weight saving in wood will be quite considerable, and some calculations have shown that I should have a 2.5 cubic ft fridge with between 4" and 5" of insulation all round. Super-cold beers at almost no elecktrickery consumption or what!
Bumped into Yolande and Dan off Jacana in the bar (where else?), Aussies I last saw in Trini about half a century ago. Had news of Marion and Roger off Marionette 4, should be seeing them inn a few weeks. Also had a phone call from Maureen & Paul (calypso) so it's been just like old times.
I now have a returned signed contract and the book should be coming out in August. Good (ish) news all round then. Now to buy a jigsaw and avoid cutting-off any body parts!
