Left Charlotteville, Tobago, yesterday morning around 1100 local (1500UTC) in a bit of a rain shower, however, after about 7 hours motor-sailing the wind freed off and we had a very pleasant evening/early morning sail, making about 5 kts over the ground. The much-vaunted contrary-current is very flukey, so at times we actually had 0.5kt with us. At worse, we had 1kt against, but not consistent.
This morning, we've been headed by a contrary wind, so are motor-sailiong about 20degrees too far to the south, never mind, it will change!
Before we left Tobago, we wemt on a 'nature ramble' with a local guide, which was quite informative and not too strenuous. Tobago is a great place to 'lime'. Anyway, all well onboard, no re;iable ETA as yet, probably arrive Guyana on the 2nd. Slight seas, not too much wind (although both from ahead) and blue skies...........and the rum in Guyana is cheap :)
More tomorrow.
Oh yes, somebody was trying to contact me through the multihull web site. No internet access, try the boat mail:
