Plan B. We left Dickies Bay at 0830 this morning and had a drift/motor until we approached Cape Brett, then then a NW wind kicked in and we had a pleasant sail. We even took the 'short-cut' through Cape Brett....won't do that again! Blimey Guv, it weren't 'arf rough for a couple of minutes, a really big swell! Anyway, the post-swell sail was so pleasant instead of anchoring for the night in Whangamunnu, we pressed on another ten miles to Whangarunnu (confused? Join the club!). Anyway, onwards tomorrow if the winds allow.

We went through the gap. If it gets this 'swellie' in an almost flat calm, forget going through in anything more than 5kts of wind!

Goes through this at about 25 kts!
I tried it......there was this funny splintering sound
