Of leaks and books

Yes Virginia, there is another leak. Paul  Calypso didn't make it to the chandlers in Singapore so I'm holding off diving in a very murky marina until I have some underwater putty.

In the meantime I really must start 'mantling' the engine. This last week I've been busy writing and taking a break from boat problems but sooner or later I'm going to have to bite the bullet, or in this case blow into the fuel pipe and make a start. Thanks for all the suggestions that you've collectively made. I think my approach will be too check the fuel lines then use a vernier hammer and remove the injector pump and have it tested. The engine doesn't labour in gear when I try and rev it, it just doesn't rev!

The plan, such as it is is to fix the engine and wait for the weather to settle down a bit before moving up to Lankawi for Christmas. In the new year there will have to be a visa run, probably to Thailand then I really ought to haul Trouters out. I'm emailing for quotes from Pancor Marine for a haulout and two months on the hard. As a minimum I want to grind the starboard keel back to the matting then re-epoxy. Hopefully there will be an obvious water-entry point on the port hull (new leak) otherwise I'll have to do that as well. Expensive exercise and there lays the problem of course. It might not happen but if I want to take advantage of an offer of a ticket and visit the UK then I'll have to come up with something.
