Fri 25th. The extra epoxy arrived and has been put on, the final cement
coat is also in place. Water ingress has sowed to a trickle, hopefully
that will now stop once the water level in the hull drops/the cement plug
over the inspection hatch finally sets and and we can leave the electric
pump off all night.
Fernando has done all he can so it'll be interesting to see if we have any
water in the bilges tomorrow morning and if so how much. I guess that's
the show stopper, if we get in a litre or so every four or five hours then
it's a go for Tahiti, much more than that and it isn't so what happens
then I don't know.
At the moment the boat is scheduled to come out of the water in Papeete on
Thu 1st and I have no idea how long repairs will take, I imagine a couple
of weeks. In the meantime all else is well on board with everybody keen to
get going although not stupidly keen, if you understand what I mean.
Ironically, another BB385 suffered similar damage in a storm in the Med
three weeks ago and is on a hard somewhere in Greece being mantled as I
type.
