Daily run...abysmal!
Had a semi-decent six hour sail last night, the only fly in the ointment being we were going NW instead of SW, but at least we had some peace and quiet. The wind turned light and variable first thing (0600) so we headed SSW to make up for the 'lost' southing due to sailing, and ten minutes ago turned onto the rhumb line track (again) for Galapagos. Fuel consumption is not too bad and we have full water tanks.
The crew both had a turn at manually helming last night as the autopilot wasn't happy in wind mode as the wind was all over the place. Both got the hang of it quickly and enjoyed it.
My turn at being cook today. After Helen's scones the pressure is on! I'm making pizza.....the recipe says to wait until the dough has doubled in size, mine has tripled!!! Too much yeast, perhaps? Anyway, the weather is glorious (apart from the wind and the Grib files are promising southerlies tomorrow) the sea is calm (ish) and a deep blue so all is right with the World.
