The rain in Spain

Seems to be falling in Ria de Pondevedra. There, for those who are
'enjoying' an indifferent summer elsewhere I hope that makes you feel a
bit better!
It's a shame for two reasons: Firstly there's not enough wind (despite the
rain) to power up the wind generator and not enough UV's to power up the
solar panels, so possibly later on today I'll have to run an engine (or
two) to get some wiggly amps back into the batteries. Mind you, that will
give me hot water for a shower so it's not all bad!
The second reason it's unfortunate is my chum Dick, in Moonshiner, is
approaching the Galician coast and finding it heavy going in SW winds.
Hopefully I'll be talking him again later on today on SSB when he should
be nearing Coruna.
various forecasts seem to suggest that 'normal service' should be resumed
on Monday i.e. Northerly winds, so at that point I'll move on south. The
plan is to do an oil change (both engines) in Bayona, then head on into
Portugal.
I just got a quote for a Parasailor spinnaker. Although it looks a good
bit of kit the cost is almost a years' cruising so I think I'll have to
make do with what I've got! More patience in light winds is called for, I
feel.
Oh, just to clarify my comment about hot water and a shower, I do actually
take showers (quick ones!) in tepid water.
