Now in Rodney bay marina for a night, to recover from the trip over and arrange some boat jobs for next week
Had a pleasant morning sail from Carlisle bay up to Port St Charles, then it went slightly pear-shaped. We had to wait a couple of hours to clear out as the customs officer was 'on assignment' elsewhere (fairly obviously an extended liquid lunch breakl, when he showed up :) )
Anyway, met up with the crew from 'Beez Neez', the lady of the boat being an avid follower of this blog (you're right, you should get out more..... you should be writing your own blog :) )Hope to see them in Rodney bay in a day or so and be properly hospitable. Moonshiner should be here in a day or so as well.
Sorry to say cheerio to the final member of 'Team Moonshiner'. If you read this, it was great meeting you all (Mad Mary, Diver and The Squid). Hope all your various plans come to fruition. Don't take it all too seriously (apart from the drinking and sailing, that is!)
The trip over to Rodney Bay took around 16 hours and was a bit of a lumpy old trip. I went North-about round the island to avoid being becalmed in the lee which in hindsight maybe wasn't the best plan, but we're here now! Clearing in was painless (only one form and one office) and the marina has changed since I was here. $38 US for the night +water & electric so not too too outrageous for a day or so. The plan is to sail slowly down the island to Vieux Fort to drop Bob Glen off near the airport on Sunday morning.
The sun has now decided to shine (morning Margaret, thanks for the photos of 'Upper Alaska') and it's a balmy 27 degC (sorry, just couldn't help mentioning that). Perhaps a few pictures in a day or so.
