This is what happens when you get a bit too impatient to see results. The second coat of wood stain hadn't quite dried when I turned Yuri loose on it. Never mind, I'll let it dry properly then sand it back.

This gives an idea of what the interior may look like. Of course, ignoring the table for the moment, there's some sanding to be done, then the high-gloss top coat to finish off.

OK OK, a bit messy I know, but I'm thinking that maybe only on coat of stain is necessary. I'll make suren this us dry before I sand it down!

Well i think it looks OK. Some of the other photos make the stain look a bit dark, but this is closer to what you actually would see if you were on the boat. Once the high-gloss finish is applied I reckon it'll look the dogs bollocks.

There used to be a radio speaker in that there 'ole!

See what I mean about it looking dark? In real life it's OK, trust me, I'm a ship-wrecked matelot

Well, that's it for today (Friday in my time zone). I have a bottle of wine and some ex-rental DVDs for tonights entertainment. I anticipate a slowish start tomorrow and probably just a couple of hours work. Maybe finish off staining (is this a case of a seaman staining the boat?) the saloon area, which Kuto finished sanding today. So next week will be sanding and varnishing. Actually I have to get a letter from Immigration allowing me to return to Fiji without an onward ticket. No problem as I've spoken to 'the dude' who has to write it, but it will take up most of an afternoon. I also need to try and get a letter saying that I am local VAT-exempt as I am a 'Ship In Transit'. This I feel will take considerably longer!
