It's been a busy few days (for busy, read expensive). Working backwards as it were, this morning (Saturday in once again 'Soggy Suva') John the GRP was making the 'concrete rudders'. I don't think there'll be any problems about the slight extra weight and none of my 'avid readers' have come back to me, so there we go. Arun the Elektrik has been busy this week. The anchor windlass was due to be fitted this morning (the deadline has spurred him into action), but it was precipitating heavily in a mainly downward direction, so we mutually agreed not to work on deck and catch pneumonia.
Martin the Meknik duly delivered the new davit plate, which isn't quite right but he assures me that it can be fixed 'in situ'. Hmm, well we'll see. Butto and I have been busy painting, sanding and gluing.

Ah yes, paint the side-walls. Now leave a 'wood' strip, paint it white or possibly blue???
Thinking about it during the 'end of play beer' on Friday, Butto came up with an improvement on my idea of how to fix the new vegetable rack(s). Piccies when it's done.
All the cushions have now been put in the boat to dry out. I have to admit that looking at the seat backs put in place I detected a small amout of moisture in the vicinity of my left eye. Based on that, I have a suspicion that I may actually shed a tear or three once Trouters is back in the aquatic environment.
Yes, the cushions are a bit stained, mildewy and a triffle smelly, and I'll thank you to keep comparisons with the owner to yourself, but I reckon they'll 'scrub up' OK (you may possibly be thinking ' unlike the owner', but I've already warned you, I'll slap you
)And finally.......
We have elecktrickery! One of the saloon lights (the only one tested so far) actually works as well! What with that and a finished wind generator (except the blades need to be re-fitted) I may not have to sit and contemplate life by the flickering of a kerosine lantern!
Now all I have to do is to fund the the last of the work and the launch. Well, something will turn up, I refuse to fall at the last fence.
