The bad news is I've put the launch back till next Tuesday.
The good news (good, well OK the expensive news) is that the table will be arriving tomorrow (Friday), all the stainless work is being fabricated in the workshop so 'should' be here tomorrow. The outboard has been adjusted (again) and the new sun awning is nearing completion and will probably also be here tomorrow.
The  saga of the reluctant outboard:
T'was a dark and stormy arternoon, and Steve (Big Bear from Beez Neez) was bemoaning the fact that his outboard had given up the ghost. A passing mechanic, who happened to be passing by the dingy dock,  had attempted to fix it, but then the liquid sunshine put in an appearance and the mech'nic somewhat wisely went home. This left Steve with the task of paddling back out to the boat, aided by Pepe (well, I personally think she was going to shout out the pace ~ or possibly just shout....encouragement). Ever helpfull and hoping for a beer, I volunteered my newly-serviced Mercury. It wouldn't fit on the transom me 'ansome because a dirt-great dead Yamaha was already there. They paddled out to Beez Neez, but it was already apparent that the Merc was permanently in gear. Never mind, the Merc got Steve to shore early the following morning to get a booked taxi. It (the Merc) was returned with many thanks but  the comment that it had stopped working.........cut to the following day (today, in fact) when Sam the man, ace mechanic of this parish, appeared and adjusted the gear selector. Now, as I used to say in a previous life.......INVESTIGATION DISCLOSED THE NON-FUNCTIONING OF THE OUTBOARD WAS IN ALL PROBABLILITY CONNECTED WITH THE TOTAL ABSCENCE OF FUEL IN THE TANK. Hi Steve, about that jug of beer????????
The other bit of news is (if I'm reading American correctly) new crewmate is just about southbound. There now remains the small task of tidying up the boat (OK, there now remains the herculean task of making the boat female-friendly ~ what was the name of the stables Heracules had to clear out, Auger-something.........it's coming......Augean?)
