Chunky Milo

A rolly old night. Despite fiddling with the bridle Trouters managed to lay beam on to the swell most of the night with occasionally peaceful lulls. The leak is present but quite slow at the moment so I didn't have to get up in the night to attend to it. Other leaks yes but that one, no.

High tide at 0847 so a  'cuppa Milo'  and naan bread for brekker then off to Fraser Island. About 98nm to the first anchorage inside the bar, so around 24 hours en route. The problem is that would have me arriving at the bar just at the start of the ebb, so I'll have to hang around for slack low water until I can cross. Still, I should carry the ebb tide all the way through the Moreton bay shipping lanes which will be a help. Just in the process of preparing the 'trip curry'.

The forecast keeps changing slightly. Last night it was '10-15kts, scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms' for the next three days. This morning it was '10-15 gusting 20 etc etc for today and tomorrow was much the same except winds to 25 kts later'. No doubt tomorrow it'll be different again. The problem is a high over Tasmania. Highs here seem to produce unsettled weather but are good for the SE Trade winds. When the pressure drops a bit the weather turns bright and sunny. Right now it's 1029Hpascalls and I can see a 'luvverly' rainbow. Note to self, dig out sailing jacket!

Chunky Milo? Well I brought the tin of Milo in Suva many months ago and it's solidified but if you bash it a bit it crumbles into chunks and boiling water does the rest. Only one large chunk to go then I can open the new tin!
