This week has all been about cleaning up the boat (nearly done), planning
a new fridge installation, planning a new gas bottle holder
and.......meeting up with old friends and acquaintances.
First of all I bumped (not literally) into Helen & Steve off Dignity
(Lagoon 44 hybrid), last seen in Bay of Islands New Zealand, but last
spoken to en-route to Fiji. Then I had a phone call from Marion & David
(Kilkea2) who were over in Nadi. They caught the bus and stayed over night
in the Holiday Inn, so it was nice catching up with them again. I'm
pleased to say that Trouters was not as badly damaged as they had
imagined. Had a pleasantly fiery curry in beautiful downtown Suva and
today they got a lift back to Nadi with Helen & Steve who were going to
the airport to pick up incoming crew.
This coming week should see all the 'muck & bullets' cleared out of the
boat and I'm going to 'invest' in a drill and jigsaw to start assembling
the new fridge box. First things first though, Monday off to the Icom
place with my SSB to get a definitive verdict on it.
