Would negotiate the end of a strike, sign the deal but include a clause which gave the strikers two days off (no doubt to recover from the effects of striking!). Anyway, the strike officially ends on Saturday (but, it's 'le weekend, m'sieur, c'est ferme, non?). Some things are beginning to re-appear in the shops and markets, and the ferries are now running on a regular basis.
Yesterday, we motored round  the corner to Anse Mitan, but the water wasn't any clearer, it was crowded, rolly & open to the forcast northerly swell, so we came back. Lois & Derek (Antares 2) dingied over to see if we'd like to visit the plantation where Emperess 'not tonight' Josephine was brought up. Needless to say (after a 2 km walk) it was closed, but we had a look around an old abandonned rum distillery instead. According to Derek, they are always looking for pilots in Vanuatu!
The plan remains to go up to St Pierre on Monday, clear out and up to Dominica on Tuesday.
